GABBI GARCIA released her first single "All I Need", became the only Kapuso star nominated at the recent Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, and recently flew to Japan for a Maybelline campaign and met the international supermodel Gigi Hadid. It’s later announced that she’s the newest Filipina ambassador for the brand.
Folks say she can get away with anything with her looks and talent, but Gabbi claims she works hard to achieve her goals. "I can still remember my promise to myself when I turned 18. This is just the beginning for me, and right now I'm enjoying the thrill of challenging myself into different things.”
Gabbi has been juggling her studies in Meridian International College as a Music Business Management major with several shoots here and abroad. Now, she can't wait to share all the things that she has lined up for this year. She knows she's in control, and she wants to inspire young girls to aspire for the same.
"I have a lot of dreams that I plan to make real, and I'm really focused on that. I want to concentrate more on my music. They say to take it easy, and I know I need to chill but I'm really feeling this pull to strive harder."
For millennials, it is believed that they feel the most pressure to leave a mark and find their rightful place in the world. So how does she handle the work?
"I find the right balance with my family. My folks are really the ones that keep me grounded, and I have my sister to keep me in check. When I need to pause, they tell me to just chill and take it easy. I'm so thankful that I have a supportive family.”
She recently flew to Thailand for another photo shoot, and she also took this opportunity to pause and unwind. "I just love the water and I'm so happy I had the opportunity to experience the majesty of Okura Prestige, one of the best skyscrapers in the world. It has this protruding infinity pool, and I just loved it."
Gabbi is also an advocate of body positivity. In a recent post on her social media account, she wrote: “Whenever I post swimsuit photos, people would always bully me for my body. Well, guess what!! Yes, I have no boobs, I’m flat chested + I have my own fair share of stretch marks. And I don’t see anything wrong with it. If your definition of being “sexy” doesn’t fit with my body type, well then sorry, but I LOVE MY BODY. Nobody deserves to be bullied just because of your body. We are all beautiful in our own way! NoToBodyShaming#LoveYourBody”.
With her determination to succeed, Gabbi can surely tick off each item in her bucketlist. And through her online show with GMA ONE Online Exclusives '#GOALS,' she is able to share with her followers some tips on how to achieve one’s dreams and aspirations in life. Gabbi will have more of her goals achieved in the coming months and that is something to look forward to with the Kapuso star.
Meanwhile, in “Sherlock Jr.”, Gabbi as Lily has been kidnapped and killed. It’s discovered that the bad guy is no one else but Matt Evans as Dindo. Ruru Madrid as Jack will try his best to get justice and give Matt the comeuppance he deserves. Gabbi thanked all her co-stars before she left the show. “I would like to thank the #SherlockJr team! Thank you for treating me like family...one of the best cast & productions I’ve ever worked with! Thanks for keeping things light and full of love! I’ll definitely miss taping. Thank you also to everyone who supports the show! To my gabbifieds and gabru’s, love you guys!”
