BEAUTEDERM has become a byword for people who want to have beautiful healthy skin and seek good grooming. Its endorsers are the best in their field, from Lorna Tolentino and Marian Rivera to male ambassadors like Carlo Aquino, Arjo Atayde, Ejay Falcon, Gabby Concepcion and the latest being Christopher de Leon.
They have just launched a new line for men, the Spruce & Dash collection and Pres.-CEO Rei Anicoche Tan says this is part of their company’s efforts to further develop its market and expand their products to serve both women and men all over the world.
“Beautéderm is currently celebrating so many milestones,” she says. “We just celebrated our 10th anniversary with the entire Beautederm family which includes brand ambassadors, resellers, distributors, and users that are all multiplying and growing stronger.
"We now have 108 branches all over the country, plus Singapore and New Zealand. Spruce & Dash is a new line I’m so proud of developing for men. Isn’t it nice to encounter and see a man who takes good care of himself? A man who is always fresh and smells good?
"Spruce & Dash products include Beau Charcoal Soap, Hugh Shaving Cream, Brawn Anti-perspirant White Spray for both foot and underarms, Charcoal Charmer Detoxifying Peel-off Mas and Lad Hair Pomade. They’re now available to make every man well-groomed and dashing.”
Although business is booming for her, she’s also sad because her friendship with someone she trusted so much, who she prefers not to name, has ended badly. “Nakakalungkot lang kasi pinagtiwalaan ko siya, itinuring ko siyang kapatid, kaya I’m so disappinted sa isinukli niya sa akin,” she sighs.
She won’t go into details but someone tells us that when this person got sick, Rei even spent for the surgery and all hospital expenses and she even sent this person’s child to college.
“Tapos, nalaman na lang ni Rei, lahat ng talent fees niya sa endorsers niya, may cut pala ito. Pati sa ibang business transactions, may padding din ito.
"Kasama niya ito in all her travels, binigyan ng expensive gifts at yun ang iginanti sa kanya, kaya umiiyak siya talaga sa sobrang disappointment niya.”
Someone tells Rei she’s so generous to a fault. Even in presscons, she raffles off so many cash prizes.
“Eh kasi itinuro sa’kin ng mother ko na, sa buhay, kapag binigyan ka ni Lord ng biyaya, you have to share. Gusto ko naman talagang nagse-share, huwag lang akong aabusuhin. Ang problema talaga, I’m too trusting. Kaya nang niloko ako, so masyado akong apektado.
"I became really emotional. Kasi itong taong pinagtiwalaan ko was representing me as my right hand kaya masakit talaga. Napakasakit. Pero napatawad ko na siya.
"Yun nga lang, nasayang ang magagandang pinagsamahan namin. But I’ve learned my lesson and I am now definitely much more careful in my business dealings. You should really learn from your mistakes nang hindi ka na maloko uli.”
