DIREK MARYO DE LOS REYES was the manager of the original Masculados but he gave them up three years ago and their career waned. Now, three of the group's senior members are back in Masculados Dos, with four new hunky members. "The concept for Masculados is pinaghalong Hagibis and Chippendales," says Direk Maryo, who's also megging "Ina, Kasusuklaman Ba Kita" on GMA-7. "The new members fit this concept perfectly kasi talagang puro macho hunks sila na magaganda ang katawan."
Masculados Dos is launching their Universal Records album titled Ganda, Ganda! Seksi, Seksi! The original members are Enrico Mofar (who owns the Masculados Gym on West Ave. where they work out), Lexter Lazaro (said to have a sex video with a Baywalk Beauty) and Robin Robel (admits being an unwed dad). The new members are Dart Kamboozia (the tallest at 6'2", Bodyshots finalist and ramp model), Nico Cordova (the youngest at 21 and a poli-sci graduate from the University of Caloocan), Ozu Ong (an aspiring stuntman trained by a martial-artist uncle), and Orlando Sol (former lead singer of M-Gage who stars in the indie flick Halik sa Tubig and will play the title role in Macho Dancer 3. How did he get the new recruits? “It took me a year to find the new members,” said Maryo. "Nagpa-audition ako and I notice marami, kapwa guys nila ang gusto so hindi sila qualified. The ones we got are certified barakos. Walang bading sa kanila. After we got them, pinag-work out namin muna so they'll be more hunky, then we trained them for 3 months sa singing with voice coach Arnold Calpe and dance with Geleen Eugenio."
The songs in their album are all originals: "Baby, Angkas Na", "Hello Friendship", "Goodboy", "Celfone" and the carrier single "Ganda-Ganda! Seksi-Seksi!" They also sang a medley of their old hits like "Lagot Ka Isusumbong Kita", "Macho Papa" and "Jumbo Hotdog".
