PAOLO AVELINO is a good example of someone who lost in "Starstruck" but still became popular. He's now hosting "Starstruck V Shoutout" and is also in the new afternoon soap, "Ina, Kasusuklaman Ba Kita". We heard he's being groomed to play a lead role soon. "Sana nga, magkatotoo," he says. "But I'm really thankful dahil sunod-sunod ang soaps ko like 'Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin', 'Luna Mystika', 'All My Life' pati movies like 'Patient X' and 'Panday'. In 'Ina', I play the role played by Mark Gil in the original 1985 movie."
He's paired with Jennica Garcia, who he's rumored to have courted before, but his rumored GF now, LJ Reyes, is also in the cast. Won't this be a problem for them? "I admit muntik kong ligawan si Jennica when we did 'Dear Friend' kasi maganda na siya, mabait pa. It's easy to fall for her. But I stopped out of respect kay Mart Escudero na batchmate ko sa Starstruck IV. I heard gusto niyang magkabalikan sila. As for LJ, good friends lang talaga kami. We're very close. Magkabarkada sila ni Jennica kaya I don't see any problem na magkakasama kami rito sa 'Ina, Kasusuklaman Ba Kita?' I enjoy working with both of them."
It was also rumored then that he has a crush on Jean Garcia. "Nasabi ko lang in an interview na bilib ako kay Ms. Jean dahil batambata ang hitsura niya at ang galing niyang alagaan ang sarili niya. It's just honest admiration, tapos nasulat nang may gusto ko sa kanya and she's a cradle snatcher daw. Nakakahiya nga kasi kunsaan-saan na napunta. But we met na sa taping and she's very nice naman kahit nahihiya ako sa kanya."
