Jhake Vargas supports his family

JHAKE VARGAS wants to clarify that he doesn't play villain to the Barbie Forteza-Joshua Dionisio love team in the youth-oriented drama, "First Time", to start airing on Monday before "24 Oras" on GMA-7. "Ako ang childhood friend ni Barbie rito but ang bagong student sa class naming si Joshua ang mas nagustuhan niya," he says. "Kawawa nga yung role ko as Baste kasi martir. I remain to faithful to Barbie kahit di niya ako pansin."

A discovery of Kuya Germs, he's a regular host in "Walang Tulugan". He did bit roles in some GMA soaps but it was in "Stairway to Heaven" that he was really noticed as the young TJ Trinidad, along with Barbie and Joshua. The three of them were then cast together again in "Dear Friend" and now, in "First Time". "This is our biggest break kasi bale kaming tatlo ang leads dito. Love triangle kami pero friends kaming tatlo sa set, laging nagkukulitan. Para kaming magkakapatid. Akong eldest at 17, si Joshua is 17 at si Barbie, 12."

Jhake is one of nine kids and he helps his family financially, especially now that his mom has stage 4 colon cancer. "I spend for her chemotherapy and I'm also having our house in Olongapo repaired. Malaki rin po ang tulong sa amin ni Tatay German. Malaki talaga utang na loob ko sa kanya lalo noong nagsisimula pa lang ako."
Jhake has real matinee idol good looks. We won't be surprised if he'd be one of GMA's top teen heartthrobs.
