DIREK MARYO DE los Reyes directs soaps for GMA-7 and movies for ABS-CBN's Star Cinema. After "Rosalinda", he's megging "Gumapang Ka sa Lusak" on GMA, a political drama that is timely for the forthcoming election as it exposes the graft and corruption of people in high places. For Star Cinema, he'll do "I'll Be There for You", the first movie together of Gabby and KC Concepcion, with Jericho Rosales as KC's love interest. Aside from these projects, he's also managing the all male song-and-dance group Masculados Dos. "Gumapang" is Maryo J's fourth Sine Novela on Dramarama after "Magdusa Ka" with Katrina Halili that rated so high and was nomianted as best telenovela in the International Emmy Awards, "Saan Darating ang Umaga" which he also megged on the big screen and the Aljur Abrenica-Kris Bernal starrer, "Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin", that broke records with a still unparalleled afternoon rating of 32.4%.
