Christian Bautista is the biggest Filipino singer in Asia

IS IT TRUE Christian Bautista is moving to TV 5? "No, I'll still be with ASAP," he says at the SWATCH presscon for his "Romance Revisited" concert on March 12 and 13. "I have no contract naman with ABS, only with ASAP kaya nakaka-guest ako na sa GMA-7 in 'Unang Hirit'. ASAP Live is also producing my concert."

What's his reaction to Mark Bautista moving to GMA-7? "Nagulat ako. But he's also not with ABS. He's with VIva and I think decision yun ng Viva."

Christian is now the biggest Filipino singer in the Asian music scene. He showed us his music videos: with Indonesia's Bunga Cinta Lestari for their duet of the Bahasa version of "Be Careful with My Heart" and with Malaysia Noryn Aziz for their duet of the Malay version of "Ngiti". He'll next do a duet with another Malaysia, Lianna and then go to Thailand for the Pattaya International Musicfest to represent the country in a weeklong affair to be attended by an estimated crowd of 30,000 people. He also has an offer to do a TV series or a movie in Indonesia. "Most probably, I'd do the movie in August," he says. "Kasi, kung teleserye, I'd be required to stay there for three months. E, paano naman ang other commitments ko? In the movie, I'll play a foreign exchange student who'd meet the leading lady, a well known VJ in Indonesia, while she's being chased by the mob. Mas mabilis gawin yun than a teleserye."

Dubbed as Asia's Romantic Balladeer, his "Romance Revisited" album with the love songs of Jose Mari Chan is now double platinum. It has two hit music videos: "Tell Me Your Name" with Paula Taylor and "Beautiful Girl" with Angel Locsin, Anne Curtis, Georgina Wilson and Solenn Heusaf. His Music Museum this weekend will feature the songs in the album and other romantic songs. His special guests are Karylle and A-Pop, the group of young singers headed by Sam Concepcion and Young JV.
