Drew Arellano going solo on "AHA"

AFTER BEING a segment host in "Unang Hirit" and hosting "Balikbayan" on Q Channel 11, Drew Arellano is proud to be finally solo hosting his own infotainment show on GMA-7, "AHA!", to premiere this Easter Sunday, April 4, to give viewers new knowledge and discoveries about a lot of things, all in the name of fun and learning. "It's an anything goes kind of show," he says. "For instance, in our pilot episode that we shot for seven different days, it's all about the weather. We offer trivia about weather conditions, like did you know that the hottest temperature on earth was registered in Libya at 57.8 degrees Celsius. From simple things, we get more serious and interesting by probing global warming, cloud seeding, and the fun places to go to this summer. We even offer a fashion history about swimsuits, from the more conservative getups in olden times to the skimpy bikinis now that leave little to the imagination."

"The format is limitless," says program manager Joy Marcelo. "It's even better than National Geographic or Discovery Channel kind of shows as we focus on local situations. We can feature anything. We'll feature Drew as he learns how to do skydiving and how he tries to break a Guinness record by wearing the most number of shirts na patong-patong on his body. We'll even feature our past presidents and current presidentiables, also the secrets of Manila that will surprise a lot of people. A lot research goes into each episode of 'AHA!'"

Why did they get Drew to host it? "He's on the top of our list as we feel it's time for him to do his own show on GMA-7. This is perfect for him as he's young, energetic, athletic and adventurous."

It's common knowledge that Drew and girlfriend Yia Villania have been for five years now. When do they intend to tie the knot? "Soon, but I'm still waiting for Yia to propose to me."

"AHA!" will be shown on Sundays at 10:30 AM starting this Sunday so don't miss it.
