Gov. Vilma Santos happy for Ralph Recto

BATANGAS GOV. Vilma Santos is happy to report that her hubby, Ralph Recto, is now no. 6 in the list of senatoriables in the last survery of the Social Weather Station. In 2004, Sen. Recto authored the law imposing expanded value added tax (E-VAT) and people think that this is the reason why he lost his reelection bid in 2007.

"I believe in my husband," Ate Vi says. "Napag-initan siya dahil sa E-VAT but everyone says now it save our country from the recession and economic ruin. He knew it's for the good of the country. My husband is my mentor and I believe in him. If they I'm doing good in Batangas, it's all because of him. I'm positive the voters will also see his good side. With him in the Senate, there's a better chance that the E-VAT will be put into good use at hindi mauuwi lang sa corruption. The people are suffering kasi yung buwis na dapat gamitin para sa kapakanan nila, hindi nagagamit ng tama. So yan ang babantayan ni Ralph once he's back in the senate."

As for her, she's nixing any offers to do a new movie this year. "After 'In My Life' na kumita naman at gave me some acting honors, I want full concentration uli sa mga kababayan ko sa Batangas. I owe it to them. Pinayagan nila kong magpelikula last year, so this year, balik uli ako in rendering undivided service to them."
