JC De Vera bids goodbye to Kapuso

JC DE VERA had his last taping day for GMA-7's "Panday Kids" last Monday, which was also his 22nd birthday. "Malungkot kasi nga aalis na ako sa show," he says. "But I really want to thank GMA-7 for building up my career. Mahirap umalis sa GMA kasi doon ako lumaki and they molded me into what I am now, but we have a problem ni Tita Annabelle (Rama, his manager) with Ma'am Wilma (Galvante, GMA exec) which is the main reason why I decided to go to TV 5 where I signed a three-year contract. But my respect for Ma'am Wilma remains. Nadamay lang naman ako sa away nila ni Tita Annabelle. I really need a change of environment at good timing ngang ang offer ng TV 5 sa akin came just when my contract with GMA was ending."

Annabelle said he cried as he didn't really want to leave. "Kapantay yun ng lungkot that I felt kasi six years din ako sa GMA, but I also feel relieved kasi tuwing may new show ako sa GMA, ang bigat-bigat sa dibdib. Ngayon, masaya na ako taping for my first show sa TV 5, 'Lokomoko University', a new version of their hit comedy show, 'Lokomoko High', with Tuesday Vargas, directed by Al Quinn."

Aside from this, he'll also been given a drama show. "I prefer sana a teleserye, mas magandang gawin. But I leave it all up to TV 5 to decide kung anong bibigay nila sa'kin".

TV 5 entertainment head Percy Intalan says they got JC as they want a matinee idol. "Gusto namin yung titilian ng fans and perfect si JC as he's not only a heartthrob but very versatile that he can do drama, comedy and he can even sing and dance."

With whom will JC be paired? "With Pauleen Luna as she also signed up with us."

"I wish they could borrow Maja Salvador and Empress Schuck sa ABS as I also want to work with them," says JC. "But I'm really willing to work with anyone now that I'm with TV 5."

How about his lovelife? "I'm dating someone na nagpapasaya sa akin, non showbiz. Minamasahe niya ako. But it's not a serious relationship, lalo ngayong I got so busy, mas focused muna ako sa career. I'm also shooting 'Hating Kapatid' with Judy Ann Santos kaya trabaho muna ako. I've also opened White Moon Bar sa may Ocean Park and I'm glad it's doing well naman."
