JENNYLYN Mercado has softened up in her formerly adamant stand against Patrick Garcia, the father of her love child Alex Jazz. When asked at the presscon of "Working Girls" as to what she'd do if Patrick drops in to see their son who's with her then, she said, "Walang problema. Okay lang sa akin. Kung anuman ang nangyari, tapos na yon. Wala nang reason para mag-away-away pa ulit."
So what made her change her mind? "Lagi ko naman sinasabi, darating din yun, in God's time. So ito na yung time na ayoko nang magdala ng anumang mabigat sa dibdib ko. Isa pa, Lent ngayon, the season for forgiveness. So, anuman ang nangyari before, hayaan mo na lang, di ba? Ngayon, wala nang problema sa akin kahit magkita kami o makatrabaho ko siya. I lift eveything na lang to the Lord. My mom and I have talked about it and if GMA-7 wants to make me work with him, walang problema talaga sa akin. Trabaho lang yan."
What if Patrick wants to reconcile with her? "Naku, magtatrabaho pa lang sana kami, ang layo na agad ng itinakbo ng usapan. As for that, wala nang balikan. Hindi na kailangan."
So Patrick can now borrow their son? "We have to talk about it. Hanggang doon na lang muna."
It's said her role in "Working Girls" is tailor made for her. "In a way, siguro nga. Kasi just like in real life, I play a single mom na ayaw nang makipagbalikan sa ama ng anak ko, si Biboy Ramirez. The difference is that nagkaroon ako ng bagong lovelife sa movie, si Carlo Aquino. In real life, wala, kasi mas gusto ko talagang tumutok sa trabaho to provide everything my son needs. Ngayon, pinasok ko na siya sa toddler's class at mahal ang bayad, pero okay lang para maaga siyang matuto how to socialize with other kids."
