THE WIFE OF boxing champ Nonito Donaire, Rachel, refuses to be compared with the wife of another champ, Jinkee Pacquiao. "Siguro dahil college graduate siya, tapos siya ng business management sa University of Phoenix in Arizona and also a taekwondo champ," says one writer.
"It's not that," says Rachel. "I just don't want any comparison or competition among us or with anyone. We're two different persons and if you'd compare, it'd be unfair for any of us."
Is she really dreaming to be an actress? "Not really."
Nonito butts in. "Actually, I'm the one who's pushing her to join showbiz. I myself am enjoying showbiz. It's a new and different challenge for me. So I'm pushing my wife for her to enjoy it, too."
The two of them were both signed up by Mikaela Bilbao to be endorsers of her Philosophy Spa and Medical Team. "Nonito and I became good friends when we joined 'Celebrity Duets'," says Mikaela. "I was rooting for him after I left the show due to health reasons and I'm really honored when he and his wife Rachel agreed to be my endorsers."
"I like Mikaela as she's genuine, sincere," says Nonito. "When we got back from the U.S., she made us feel at home right away. She helps us take care of our skin, our looks. My wife is happy with Mikaela and whoever makes my wife happy is my good friend. She gives us facials and really take good care of our skin."
"I also do my hair and nails with Philosophy and they offer great service," says Rachel. "When we need to relax after a hectic day, we go to the spa for a massage and it's very therapeutic."
Mikaela says Nonito and Rachel will be on her latest billboards, print and TV ads. What about her previous endorsers, Ruffa Gutierrez, Pops Fernandez and Rufa Mae Quinto? "Ruffa and Rufa Mae, okay pa, but si Pops, matagal na siyang hindi nagpapakita sa akin."
