WHAT'S RUFFA GUTIERREZ' reaction when she learned Kris Aquino is not sincere in apologizing to her and was just forced by her elder sisters to do it? "Basta ako, I'm very sincere when I sent her flowers and a personal note," she says. "Hindi lang ako basta sa media nagsalita kundi I wrote her directly. I tried to reach out on my own. Ako, no one can ever force me to say things I don't wanna say as I have a mind of my own. Even if some family members won't agree, may sarili kong paninindigan. But like what they said in 'The Buzz' last Sunday, nagsimula doon, doon din nagtatapos and for me, tapos na talaga ang anumang misunderstanding namin. I've already moved forward, sa dami ng reasons for me to celebrate. I have a new home and new shows on TV 5, I just got news from my lawyer that the courts have given me official sole custody of my daughters and Yilmaz accepted it, and I have a new endorsement, Nokia's latest cellfone service, Share Location on Ovi Maps. With my Nokia N97 mini, I can now download both local and international maps para di na ako naliligaw and I can tell anyone also where my exact location is or the places I enjoyed visiting. It comes with Drive-Walk Navigation and real-time weather service with 5-day forecast.
And why did Nokia get Ruffa for this? "We just got Rihanna for our international campaign, so for our local one we got Ruffa to join the Nokia family, which is a very select group. Ruffa is fun, digitally savvy, a superstar, and she's big on Facebook and Twitter so she's perfect to endorse Ovi Maps," says Nokia Marketing Manager Mitch So who was Ruffa's classmate at OB Montessori.
"O, di ba, ang ka-level ko na, si Rihanna," says Ruffa. "E, sa bahay naman, everyone really uses Nokia. So now, I'll have a Nokia fun page in my FB and Twitter accounts and we'll give away cellphones each Friday to lucky fans."
Did her FB and Twitter friends increased after the incident with Kris? "Oh yes. I have 100,000 plus friends na. After that, there were 20,000 new followers na hindi ko talaga ma-accept sa dami, so I'd like to thank my P.A., Ma-an, who was the one who accepted them isa-isa."
So can she say that "iba ang level ng happiness niya sa Nokia"? "Oh yes, talagang iba ang level ng happiness dito. Ang saya-saya! We're also happy because the reckless imprudence resulting in homicide case filed against my brother Richard by the wife of his late assistant, Nomar Pardo, was dismissed by the Department of Justice after reviewing the evidence. That's another big blessing."
We saw a copy of the decision and it says the justice department found no basis in the allegation that Richard was driving at "mind-boggling speed" when the accident happened. If this were true, then the two passengers seated in front (Richard and his other assistant) would've been incapacitated by the accident. They were saved by the fact that they were wearing seatbelts when the mishap occured, whereas the unfortunate Nomar failed to secure himself with a seatbelt at the back of the car.
