Now 20, Janelle was born in California but grew up in Texas, the eldest of two sisters. "Last year, I told my parents I want to try my luck in showbiz here. Gusto ko talaga mag-artista. Pumayag naman sila and I now live by myself in a condo in Eastwood. They trust me kasi I'm very responsible. Bale 10 months na ako rito."
How are the guy searchers in "Take Me Out" so far? "Pag maliit, pindot agad ako ng button ko kasi I'm 5'6" at pag shorter than me, ayoko na. But I've learned my lesson. Kasi there's this guy who's not so tall so I pressed my button para ma-out agad ako. But when he showed his talent, he sang Christian songs and it turns out he's a member of Victory Church na member din ako. Sayang talaga."
Clarizz del Castillo is another girl who also wishes "Take Me Out" would get taller searchers. "Pag maliit kasi ang guy, ayaw na agad dahil there are so many girls na matangkad," she says. She took the audition in February thinking it's for a Valentine show. "March na when they contacted me and we started taping April na. Nakuha na ko to work with the banquet department ng Heritage Hotel but I told them next month na ko magre-report kasi nga nasali na ko rito sa 'Take Me Out'. Malay mo, dito ako makatagpo ng bagong boyfriend, di ba?"
Another girl is Echo Caceres who Survivor Philippines. "After 'Survivor', I guested in various GMA shows like 'Pinoy Records' and 'Show Me Da Manny'. Dahil doon, natulungan ko ang family ko sa Bicol and with the help of 'Wish Ko Lang', naipagawa pa ang bahay namin. I also did an indie movie with Justine Ferrer, 'Pulupot', nagpa-sexy ako diyan in my role as a prostitute. I now join 'Take Me Out' kasi three years na kong single."
One of the girls is free lance actress Geraldine Tan. "I've done theatre sa Dulaang UP, maraming teleseryes, and also indie movies like 'Lola' and 'Paano Ko Sasabihin' as Erich Gonzalez' mom. I'm glad nakuha ako sa 'Take Me Out' as I really look for Mr. Right."
In the episode we saw, she was obviously enamoured with the buff basketball player from Iligan City but the guy chose someone else. How did she feel about it? "I was really disappointed. Ang ganda ng katawan niya, e. But he chose Viva, the balikbayan girl from the States who speaks English lang. E, siya naman daw, promdi na hindi marunong masyado ng Ingles. So ewan ko kung paano sila magkakaintindihan."
Each girl is paid P2,000 for their every appearance in "Take Me Out" that starts airing today at 5:30 PM.
