Should “Ultimate Hunk” Aljur Abrenica be worried with Carl Guevarra’s entry on “The Last Prince”? GMA is obviously building up Carl, a transferee from ABS-CBN. After making him star with Jennica Garcia in "Dear Friend", he's now cast as Kris Bernal's new suitor in "Last Prince".
"Sa'kin, okay lang basta makakatulong sa show," says Aljur. "Just like Daniel Matsunaga before, nag-click siya as the werewolf prince na nakaribal ko kay Kris, so we hope Carl will also help attract more viewers for our show. I'm willing to help Carl with his role at ikukuwento ko sa kanya kung ano ang itinakbo ng story so far. We'll cooperate with each other para mas mapaganda ang show."
How about Carl? Isn't he worried that he might appear as a villainous third party in eyes of the fans of the Aljur-Kris love team?
"Not really," he says. "I'll just do what my role calls for and what the script asks me to do. I'm sure may magre-react, hindi naman maaalis yun, but I'm willing to take anything negative they might say against me. It's part of the business."
He's satisfied with the way his new manager, Perry Lansigan, is guiding his career. "At least, nakikita kong may pinupuntahang mas maganda ang career ko ngayon."
Is it true Daiana Menezes was the one who broke up with him? "Sinabi raw nga niya yun. I think nainis siya kasi noong on pa kami, some people were saying mukhang Ate ko siya."
And this is true because Carl is baby faced and is really younger by three years than Daiana. "But we're friends. When she saw me appearing sa 'Dear Friend', she even texted me to congratulate me and say she's happy for me."
Daiana and Shivaker keep on denying that they're now on but they were seen canoodling happily in Boracay last week. What can he say about this? "Basta kung happy sila, happy rin ako para sa kanila."
