"Siempre, nagulat ako, like all the rest, biglaan kasi," she says. "But I wish her and her husband the best. Everyone deserves to be happy."
So when will she and her boyfriend Atticus King (also non-showbiz like Sunshine's hubby Timothy Tan) follow in walking down the aisle? "Ay, wala po kaming balak. We're both still enjoying being single. Malayo pa yun."
Iza is one of GMA Artist Center's prized properties. She just scored two best actress nominations in this year's awards derby, both for her portrayal of an ill-fated girl raped and killed by the military in Joel Lamangan's "Dukot" (a title said to be now more appropriate for Angelica Panganiban.)
"It's really a great honor to be nominated in both the Enpress Golden Screen and the Urian. At puro magagaling ang kalaban ko kaya just being nominated alongside with them is already an honor. Imagine, kahanay ko sina VIlma Santos, Sharon Cuneta, Eugene Domingo, Janice de Belen, Anita Linda. Ako lang nga ang baguhan kaya feeling ko, parang nanalo na rin ako. I'd like to thank Direk Joel and my leading man and producer, Allen Dizon, for giving me such a great role in 'Dukot'. It's a difficult film to do kasi nabugbog talaga ako ng husto in the rape and torture scenes but it's worth it as the film will open the eyes of viewers to the pain and injustice experienced by some our people."
Iza is now seen as Maria Makiling in GMA-7's "Panday Kids" and also hosts the cooking show "Healthy Cravings" on Q Channel 11.
