JACKIE RICE finally gets to play a title role in "Tisay", the episode of "Dear Friend" about love, sacrifice and forgiveness that starts this afternoon after "Party Pilipinas". "Maganda ang role ko as a college student named Ella who works at night as a club dancer called Shiva to support my studies," she says. "It's a very mature role compared to my role in 'Panday Kids' at ipapakitang nagsasayaw ako rito, medyo daring. I'm glad muli akong pinagtiwalaan ng GMA-7 at paganda nang paganda ang projects na binibigay nila sa'kin. I admit namang after I won sa Startstruck 3, naging pasaway ako dahil mas gusto ko pang gumimik kaysa magtrabaho. Pero na-realize ko ring dapat mahiya ako sa mga bumoto at nagtaguyod sa'kin for me to me win kung basta babalewalain ko na lang ang opportunities given to me by GMA. But in a way, nakatulong din na pinahinog muna ako bago ko binigyan ng ganitong chance kasi before, talagang hilaw na hilaw pa ang acting ko."
She said before love is not her priority now but she admits she's currently on with a 25-year old non-showbiz guy named Andrew. "But this time, work talaga ang priority ko. Kasi yung love, lagi namang nandiyan lang yan, puedeng balikan. Pero ang opportunities sa career, pag pinalampas mo, baka di na puedeng balikan."
In "Tisay", she's paired with Joross Gamboa who plays a medical student who falls in love with her but is later turned off when he learns she has a secret life as a dancer. They're supported by Chynna Ortaleza, Ryza Cenon, Jade Lopez, Sheree, Mariz, Jay Perillo, directed by Jun Lana.
