Jay R gets a big break in his career as the host of GMA-7's new and exciting dating game, "Take Me Out", which is a big hit in other countries. "I really want to thank GMA for trusting me with this, my first solo hosting job," he says. "I promise to do my best at paninindigan ko talaga ito."
We got to watch the first episode and it's very entertaining. 30 pretty girls of various personalities are first presented on stage. Then one guy comes up and he'd choose the date he wants from these 30 girls. If the girls like what they see in him, they keep the lights on their respective podiums on. If not, they can turn it off to indicate that they're not interested. The first guy to come out is Alchris Galura, younger brother of Glaiza de Castro who won best actor awards for his performance as an Igorot guy in "Battad". Five girls turned off their lights upon seeing him. The remaining 25 girls are then treated to a video presentation showing Alchris skateboarding and doing muay thai. Those who don't like what he does can turn off the lights again.
Eventually, Alchris is asked to himself turn off the lights of the remaining girls until only two remain. He then chooses who of the two girls will be his date. The second searchee is a basketball player from Iligan who took his shirt off to display his hunky body. He goes through the same process that Alchris went through. The date of these couples will be recorded and later on shown in succeeding episodes. "Take Me Out" starts airing this Monday, APril 26, replacing "Family Feud" at 5:30 PM before "First Time".
