Mocha Girls disband form own group Girlz Ink

FOUR MEMBERS of the Mocha Girls have left vocalist Mocha Uson and formed their own girl group, Girlz Ink: Hershey de las Alas, Heart de Guzman, Grace Oracion and Bez Lacanlale. Mocha has since recruited new back up singers to join her act. So why did they leave Mocha? "It's a career move," says Heart, who has sang with bands in Japan and Dubai.

Did they have any personal conflict with Mocha? "None," says Hershey. "Heart was the first to leave, then si Bez and sumunod kami ni Grace. Mocha naman kasi wants to go solo na rin. Our new name is Girls Ink. Girls is from Mocha Girls and Ink means Independent Kami. Hindi na kami just part of Mocha."

"Maayos naman kami nagpaalam kay Mocha and she even wished us good luck," says Grace.

But Mocha contradicts this. She says she kicked them out due to something that happened when they had a show in Guam. What that is, she won't elaborate as of now.
"We're nervous in forming our own act," says Bez, "but we're determined to work hark to make it on our own."

But it's not only them who said goodbye to Mocha but former co-manager Joyce Pagala who wouldn't elaborate on why she did so. "Basta let's just say I'm not willing to sacrifice my principles. Ang sabi ko lang sa Girls Ink, ayusin nila ang act nila, don't indulge sa kung anu-anong vulgar gimmick that might cheapen them kasi magaganda sila't sexy and may talent naman sila."

We watched the girls as they were formally launched at Mugen Bar recently and they're indeed all pretty and have sexy figures. They do dance well but they still have to refine their singing to make them a real class act.
