Regine Velasquez celebrates birthday in Bohol with Ogie Alcasid

REGINE VELASQUEZ had a swell time celebrating her 40th birthday in Bohol with Ogie A and her family. She's now back taping again for her kantaserye, "Diva", which is such a big hit that ABS-CBN will also have one soon, patterned after the U.S. show, "Glee", where the characters led by Sarah Geronimo will also do a lot of singing. What can Regine say about this? "Aba'y dapat lang namang gumawa rin siya ng kantaserye as she's a great singer," she says. "Ako naman, proud ako sa show namin kasi lahat ng guests namin dito, kumakanta nang live kaya mapagmamalaki mo talaga."

Regine will do advanced tapings for "Diva" as she'll leave with Ogie soon for a series of concerts in the U.S. and Canada. "We have to make sure na marami kaming episodes na nakabanko for future use," she adds.

In "Diva", Regine as Sam is reunited with brother Smith (Mark Herras) and tells him why she suddenly disappeared after her life was threatened by Lady (Rufa Mae Quinto). She tells him not tell their parents (Gloria Diaz and Boboy Garrovillo) that she's alive as their lives will also be put in danger. Meantime, George (Randy Santiago) reconciles with Lady and promises to revive her career while Debbie (Gretchen Espina) discovers that Tiffany (Glaiza de Castro) is secretly in love with Martin (TJ Trinidad.) Her friends force Sam to join a pageant which turns out to be for Miss Panakot sa Daga, for ugly girls. She wins!
