Ruffa Gutierrez, one of the hosts that night, is being blamed for John Lloyd's absence. "Natakot siguro sa'yo kaya iniwasan ka," she's ribbed.
John Lloyd said later he didn't even know Ruffa was a host. In jest, Ruffa said it's good he didn't attend or he would have gotten cross-eyed with the plunging neckline she's wearing that night that reveals so much of her ample bosom.
The next day, Ruffa attended the first birthday party of the daughter of her friend, Vina Morales. Vina's younger sister, Shaina Magdayao, was there and reportedly made herself scarce when Ruffa arrived. "Tingnan mo, iniiwasan ka rin parang si John Lloyd," says a writer. "Siguro guilty nga sila."
Ruffa says she herself didn't see Shaina. "Kasi if I saw her, I'd have greeted her," she adds. "For me, wala akong makitang problema between us. But my daughter Venice says she saw Shaina who even greeted her. Pero ako, hindi."
"Kasi nga iniwasan ka," some writers insist.
