Producer Joji Alonso talks about Here Come's the Bride

ATTY. JOJI ALONSO is better known as an indie producer. Her "Kubrador" won various awards here and abroad. So why is she into mainstream filmmaking now? "Noon ko pa plan to co-prod with Star Cinema but di natuloy. Taking the indie route was a learning experience for me. I learned a lot from 'Kubrador' na ang layo ng narating. In 2008, I submitted 'Here Comes the Bride' first sa 2008 Metro-Manila Filmfest but Chris Martinez didn't get to write the full script. It's really destined to be co-produced with Star kasi si Angelica talaga ang original choice namin for the lead role. Its budget is really huge kasi the cast is big, with five major characters, tapos maraming wawasaking kotse in the scene where they get to swap bodies, so hindi ko kaya mag-isa kaya co-prod na kami ng Star and also OctoArts. But whatever I earn from this when it opens in theaters on May 12, I will use it to produce more indie films. Right now, I'm co-producing two entries in Cinemalaya for July, 'Sampaguita' and 'Magkakapatid'. Then I intend to do a sequel of 'Kubrador' and to join the next Metro filmfest with a horror film entry."
