Starstruck runners up more active than Steven Silva

STEVEN SILVA is the big winner among the males in Starstruck V but his runners up are now more active than him. Rocco Nacino is in "Gumapang Ka sa Lusak" while Enzo Pineda is in "Diva" Doesn't he feel envious of them? "Konti lang po," he admits. "Siguro, the fact that I don't speak Tagalog fluently has something to do with it. But I'm really trying my best para matuto ako. Sa bahay, I tell them to always talk to me in Tagalog. Also, sa Starstruck noon, magaling talaga sa acting sina Rocco and Enzo, whereas I excel in singing and dancing kaya nilagay ako sa Party Pilipinas where I also get to do hosting. But GMA told us they'll give me an acting job soon in 'Love Bug' with Sarah Lahbati, Diva Montelaba and also Enzo."

Is it true he and Diva are now on as she's often seen in his condo unit? "No, we're good friends. I got a condo near GMA-7 and I invited her to visit me. Once lang yun, but someone saw us at iba na agad ang conclusion. Right now, our focus is career muna. GMA Artista Center made us take a 40-day workshop in acting, dance, singing and hosting. Nakaka-30 days pa lang kami. It's much more intense than the training we got before in Starstruck. Doon kasi, we compete with each other. This time, talagang hinahasa lang kami."

He has finished his course at the California Culinary Academy and Q Channel 11 is also offering him to his own cooking show. "They want me to prepare my own recipes of soups, different kinds of pasta and desserts. Everything I learned in school, dadalhin ko roon."

He showed us his school ID in California and he was so chubby. "I weighed 175 lbs. then, now only 150. Siguro dahil sa init dito. Also, sa States very big ang servings ng food. Dito, konti lang."

He was discovered in Davao, his mom's hometown, while he was doing on the job training as a chef for a hotel there. After he won, Davao City's Sangguniang Panglungsod honored him with a resolution for his achievement. "I might have been born in the U.S. but I'm a Davawenyo at heart," he beams.
