Vic Sotto on Two shows in TV 5

VIC SOTTO has two shows on TV5, "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" on Saturdays and the sitcom "My Darling Aswang" on Sundays, 8:30 PM. TV5 exec Percy Intalan says these two shows are among their highest-rating ones, making Vic the undisputable king of the Kapatid station. "Hindi naman," Vic says humbly. "Nandiyan din si Dolphy, who'll always be King of Comedy. But it feels good to be part of TV5. I know that sooner or later, it'll be a major network as there's room for three top TV stations. This is good for advertisers as they'll have more outlets for their products, for the stars dahil mas maraming trabaho, and for the viewers, marami silang choices."

Percy adds that 'My Darling Aswang' dominates their Sunday programming. "Tinayaan namin talaga ang Sunday shows namin as the ratings in the other stations fluctuate on Sunday, indicating the audience is fickle kaya we start with 'PO5' at noontime, followed by 'Paparazzi', then we Dolphy's show, followed by 'Talentadong Pinoy' then 'Darling Kong Aswang'. Our ratings are still low, but the feedback is all very good, just like 'Talentado' before na nagsimula ring mababa pero tumaas nang tumaas due to strong word of mouth endorsement among viewers."

"My Darling Aswang" is a spin off from Vic's Metro filmfest hit entry but the leading lady now is different. Cristine Reyes, who's with ABS, has been replaced by Brazilian beauty Daiana Menezes. "Iba na rin ang story," says Vic. "I now play a writer of horror stories who falls in love with my neighbor, Daiana, not knowing she's the daughter of an aswang from the Visayas, Tetchie Agbayani, and a vampire from Transylvania, Miguel Faustman. We're supported by Richie D'Horsie, Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Ces Quesada, Kakai Bautista, and Rhea Nakpil, directed by Bert de Leon."
