WHAT CAN Dennis Trillo say re the remarks of some writers that he excels more in acting than Dingdong Dantes in “Endless Love”? “Nabasa ko ngang nilalamon ko raw si Dingdong and I don’t think it’s true,” he says. “It’s unfair to compare us with each other as we have different roles. Basta happy kaming laging ang taas-taas ng rating ng ‘Endless Love’. But I must admit challenging talaga ang role ko as Andrew na rich, mayaman, maporma, spoiled brat pero galit sa mommy kong si Kuh Ledesma. Kaya siguro mas napapansin ako. Actually, magastos itong role ko dahil dati, I play poor boy roles na nakasimpleng t-shirt at maong lang, like in ‘Gumapang Ka sa Lusak’ na hired killer ako. Dito, kailangang laging well dressed ako so I got myself a stylist to help me and GMA provides some of my clothes. Sa set naman, kung minsan, pinipigilan ko ang tawa ko kasi inaasar ako ni Marian Rivera. Her name in the show is Jenny and every time I call her, she adds ‘lyn’ sa name niya to remind me of Jennylyn (Mercado), so I have to control myself para di ako ma-distract. Sa story, I’m now courting Jenny and I ask Dingdong as Johnny kung puede ko siyang ligawan. Siempre, Johnny gets jealous as he really loves Jenny but he has to hide it kaya napaiyak na lang siya. Si Nadine Samonte naman returns from the States para mas pahirapan si Jenny.”

JUDY ANN SANTOS is in a good mood as her movie “Hating Kapatid” is a bonafide hit, raking in P11 million on its first day per PR Shirley Pizarro. “Suerte pala talaga ang buntis,” she says. “Pampabuenas sa first movie namin ni Sarah Geronimo.”
Her fans should really see this film as it would be her last one before giving birth. “Matatagalan before I do another film kasi I’ll breastfeed my baby and spend most of my time with him. Bumalik man ako sa work, I want to do a hosting job muna on TV para hindi ako masyadong mawala sa bahay ng matagal. Gusto ko I’ll be there when he talks and walks for the first time. I plan to do a babybook for him where I’ll record everything he does.”
Everyone says she’s a beautiful pregnant woman. Would she be willing to pose in the nude showing her naked tummy like other preggy celebs? “Okay lang, basta ang photographer, ang asawa ko kasi kumukuha naman talaga siya ng pictures.”

JENNICA GARCIA is the special guest in “Pilyang Kerubin” playing a very unique role. “I am Betty, a taong baboy,” she says. “I have the nose and mouth of a pig kaya ginawa akong special attraction sa peryahan.”
Is she really on now with Alwyn Uytingco? “As much as possible, I don’t want to talk about him sana kasi taga-ABS siya at hindi naman siya ang kapareha ko rito sa ‘Pilyang Kerubin’ kundi si Carl Guevarra.”
It’s said her mom Jean Garcia is against him as he’s a bad influence on her. “Not true. He visits me at home at okay naman sila ng mom ko. It’s also unfair sabihing bad influence siya when he inspires me to work harder at napapasaya niya ako. I’m now 21 and I think I know what’s right and wrong kaya di ako basta maiimpluwensiyahan ninuman.”
She’s happy to be reunited with Carl after their first teamup in “Dear Friend”. “Aside from ‘Pilyang Kerubin’, kasama rin kami sa bagong sitcom ni Eugene Domingo, ‘Jejemom’. Okay naman si Carl, mabait, pero kung dati shy lang siya, ngayon humihirit na sa pang-aasar. He’ll be my friend in ‘Pilyang Kerubin’. He’ll accept me kahit mukhang baboy ako. With us are Julio Diaz as the perya’s cruel boss and Iwa Moto as kontrabida. May misyon si Barbie Forteza as Charity to help me but hahadlangan yun ni Iwa. But the story of the other characters continue. Joshua Dionisio will go to the gig of Elmo Magalona at mapapaaway sila. Si Angelika de la Cruz, mapupuno kay Paolo Contis and will go to Raymart Santiago but cold na ito sa kanya because of Ina Feleo.”

THE FACT that Krista Ranillo is tying the knot with her businessman BF Nino Lim on August 8 in Los Angeles should permanently put an end to all the rumors linking her to Manny Pacquiao. They used to be childhood friends who lost touch with each other but renewed their relationship some months ago. The wedding won’t be in church but a very simple wedding to be attended only by close family members and friends. Members of the media, foreign or local, are not invited. They plan to have a vacation in Manila in October and have a bigger church wedding later. We hope they’re not rushing into marriage as statistics show that marriages done in haste often end in separation.

AS ‘DIVA’ ends with its grand finale this week that’s full of plot twists and revelations, what’s Regine Velasquez’ fondest memory about the show? “Siguro yung moments na kahit serious drama ang eksena, bigla akong matatawa ng di sinasadya at hindi naman sila makapagreklamo sa akin,” she laughs. “Naku, ang dami kong bloopers dito. But I really want to thank GMA-7 for giving me this kind of show where I get to sing. It’s actually experimental and I’d like to think successful naman ang experiment naming. Magastos ito kasi sa bayad pa lang sa rights of all the songs used in the show, malaki na ang budget. I also want to thank my co-stars, the staff and crew for all the hard work they put in the show that’s been a part of my life since February. I also want to thank the viewers who watched us kaya umabot kami ng five months.”
“Diva” is definitely a tough act to follow? So what will she do next? “I don’t know yet, maybe a cooking show.”
It’s said she’s so pleased with her co-stars she gave them expensive parting gifts like I-phones, Ipads and other gadgets. She even gave an expensive BMW car to someone who’s not really part of the show. “Bakit, jowa ko naman yun,” she says, referring to Ogie Alcasid. “Ay, I don’t want to talk about that. Nahihiya ako.”
Jaya butts in at this point. “Regine is really a very giving person. She knows how to share. Ako nga, I got a Macbook from her. Ganun siya ka-generous.”

KOREAN TV HOST Grace Lee denies the rumored romance between her and James Yap. Someone maliciously wrote that they often see each other in the same place. It turns out that both she and James go to the same salon. “Nakikita ko siya roon but we’ve never even been introduced to each other,” says Grace. “I don’t know him personally so to link us with each other is ridiculous. Nakakahiya sa kanya at sa misis niya na may lumabas na ganitong tsismis.”
Even James himself denies he knows Grace Lee. When asked if she knew Grace, his answer was also a question: “Sino yun?” Those who circulate such rumors obviously don’t want to help James in his aim to reconcile with his wife.
