WE HEARD Pia Guanio and Vic Sotto are now in good terms again. They just had an LQ (and it’s not because of Daiana Menezes, Vic’s partner in “My Darling Aswang”) but didn’t really break up. They were seen attending a family affair on Pia’s side together. So expect Pia to return in “Showbiz Centra” today. Maybe she’d be ready to talk about what really happened now. Meantime, Claudine Barretto will be a special guest co-host in “Showbiz Central” for four Sundays to help promote her movie with Richard Gutierrez and Anne Curtis, “In You Eyes”. Richard himself can’t promote the movie personally since he’s now taping “Survivor Philippines, Celebrity Edition” in an island off Phuket, Thailand.

SARAH GERONIMO says the story that she cried while confiding her problems to Sharon Cuneta isn’t true. “Where did that come from?” she says at the grand presscon of “Hating Kapatid”. “No such thing happened. Wala kaming time na makapag-usap privately as we were just on stage all the time. Ang saya-saya namin, walang iyakan.”
So she didn’t cry over a boylet? “Piglet po,” she laughs.
How about to Judy Ann Santos? Has she confided anything? “Hindi ko sasabihin at aaminin,” says Juday.
“Inaamin ko pong nasaktan ako pero huwag nyo na tanungin kung sino yun,” says Sarah. “Lahat naman po tayo, nasasaktan. Ngayon lang ako umaming nasaktan ako. Ang natutunan ko okay Ate Juday, naging fighter din ako kahit paano. Nasasabi ko na po yung nasa loob ng puso ko. Hindi na lang puro opo, opo. Learning experience siya.”
Is Rayver Cruz the guy? “Sa amin na lang po yun ni Ate Juday yung tungkol sa pain na naramdaman ko. Nag-share na’ko. Sana yung details, sa akin na lang kung puede.”
“Okay naman to experience pain,” adds Juday. “It’ll make her a better and a stronger person at magagamit pa niya yun sa trabaho niya to make her a good actress.”
Sarah’s turning 22 on July 25. Has she moved on from that painful experience? “Ay opo, wala na yun. Ang focus ko ngayon, ‘Hating Kapatid’. Sobrang proud akong nakatrabaho ko si Ate Juday at pareho kaming Masaya sa kinalabasan ng movie naming. Sure kaming all viewers will enjoy it.”

DIVA MONTELABA thanked the press at the presscon of “Exchange of Hearts”, to be shown in “Love Bug” starting this afternoon after Party Pilipinas, for constantly reminding GMA-7 to give them their own show. “I’m sure nakatulong yun para heto, we can now show our talent in this story of two pairs of love birds who come from two different worlds,” she says. “Sa story kasi, jologs kami ni Enzo Pineda at nerds naman na from rich families sina Sarah Lahbati at Steven Silva. Kung sino ang mapupunta kanino, viewers will find out when they watch our romantic episode for the next four Sundays.”
How’s Andoy Ranay as director? Did he scream at them on the set? “Yes, nasigawan po kami’t napagalitan but that’s just fine kasi hindi namin makuha ang gusto niyang acting. Pero okay lang yun as this is for our own good kasi he then teaches us how to attack the scene more effectively. But that was just on the first day of taping. The next days, mas satisfied na siya sa trabaho namin. But we enjoyed working with him kasi sa set lang siya sobrang higpit. Kapag hindi siya nagdidirek, he makes us laugh, nakakatuwa siya.”
Does she have kissing scenes with Enzo and Steven? “Yes but we’ve done that before sa Starstruck when we had Kiss Flick Challenge so it’s nothing new. Part lang ng trabaho.”
So who gets her in the end: Enzo or Steven? “Siempre I can’t reveal now. Viewers should watch to find out.”
How come someone wrote she’s neglecting her grandma who raised her in Cebu? “That’s not true. She’s now with me in Manila at pinagamot ko nga siya when she got sick kaya okay na siya ngayon.”
Another issue about her is she’s a tomboy in Cebu? “I admit kalog ako’t gusto kong mga kabarkada noon, mga lalaki. But it doesn’t mean tomboy ako. Babae po ang puso ko. But as of now, wala akong intention makipag-boyfriend kasi work lang talaga ang focus ko.”

ABS-CBN acts really fast when it comes to boosting the careers of their new talents. Melason were quickly given their own show after PBB. Now, Star Records has also quickly released Pilipinas Got Talent winner Jovit Baldivino’s first album. “Faithfully”. Not only that, they also released an album featuring the talent show’s top finalist singers: Markki Stroem, Sherwin Baguion, and the Ezra Band led by girl vocalist (who really sounds and looks more like a boy) Kaye. Their album is entitled Pinoy You Got It aimed to help promote their concert tour with Juris, Ingrid Payaket and Keith Delleva, also titled Pinoy You Got It. It starts at Cuneta Astrodome on July 23. Tickets at P575, P750 and P1,000 come with a free CD of the album. Call Ticketworld at 891-9999. Aside from the title track “Faithfully”, it also has “Too Much Love Will Kill You”, plus “I’ll Be the One” (with pop and orchestra versions), “Always” and “Paano”, including their music one versions. Jovit says he doesn’t pay attention to the intrigues about him. “Pinapalampas ko na lang po.” He can’t believe how popular he has become. “May fans na nagsasabi sa’king anakan ko raw sila. Tinatawanan ko na lang.”
As for the “Pinoy You Got It” album, Markki sings “Ordinary People”, “Mahal Na Mahal”, and “Tell Me”. Ezra Band sings “Runaway”, “Wonderful Tonight”, and “Walang Iba”. Sherwin sings “Tayong Dalawa”, “Kailangan Kita” and “Bakit Hindi Mo Na Kaya”. They all sang live during the presscon and Markki, the most goodlooking of them all, elicited the most positive reactions as he went from one table to another singing at the female guests who were all swooning. “Marunong mangarinyo,” as some newshen says. THERE’S no stopping TV5 in exploring technological possibilities in making its News and Information (News5) programs at par with the world’s top news organizations. Filipino viewers will now get a taste of a truly world-class newscast as News5 introduces another first in Philippine broadcast history: the use of the leading edge virtual studio technology that will provide rich visuals displaying up-to-the-minute graphics generated on a real-time basis. This virtual studio technology will soon be seen in News5’s Aksyon, Aksyon Weekend and the daily morning news magazine show Sapul. News5 has already established itself as the innovator and trendsetter in local television by introducing high quality touchscreen monitors in its newscasts and being the only news organization in the country with the highly advanced Live Pack technology, the wireless camera-transmitter setup that enables quick deployment of reporters anytime and anywhere without the need for old-style microwave vans and satellite trucks.
