IT TURNS OUT that Krista Ranillo is already pregnant when she and businessman Nino Lim got married in very private Jewish Rites last August 6 in a hotel at Long Beach, California. This is their second wedding as they were already married in civil rites on July 14 so that Krista can extend her tourist visa that is due to expire soon. Nino is a U.S. citizen so now that they’re married, she’s eligible to apply for residency. It’s not true her parents Mat Ranillo III and Linda Tupaz are against Nino as they attended both weddings. An interdisciplinary studies graduate from Ateneo, Krista will go back to school in the U.S. and take up law after her expected date with the stork in April. Nino’s family owns the Island Pacific Supermarket chain of nine stores in California and he is said to be a very good catch. Hopefully, this would end all talks linking Krista to Manny Pacquiao and wife Jinkee can now heave a real good sigh of relief. “Masaya ako para sa kanya,” says Manny. “Siguro naman, mawawala na lahat ng tsismis at pagdududa sa amin.”

OGIE ALCASID and Regine Velasquez’ official announcement that they’re getting married may seem anti-climactic since people already know they’re altar bound, but a lot of people are still excited for them, like Sharon Cuneta who’s one of their principal sponsors and is very happy for them as she herself announced in her hit concert at the Araneta last Saturday night. Ogie said they finally got the local annulment they’ve been waiting last June 21. His wedding with Regine will be a simple one only for family and close friends. It’s going to be this year but he won’t reveal the date and the venue yet. His ex-wife Michelle will be present with current hubby Mark Murrow and daughters Leila and Sara. What can we say but all’s well that ends well. Congrats!

KRIS AQUINO has officially filed the petition for annulment of her marriage to James Yap to be heard by a certain Judge Sulit of QC Branch 146. This is on the ground of lack of official authority on the part of the officer who solemnized their marriage. But a legal expert told us this is a very shallow reason that might not hold water in court since, if both bride and groom got married in good faith at the time of the wedding, the ceremony is still considered good and valid. What Kris should really get worried about now are the revelations of James’s mom, Mrs. Annie Yap, when interviewed by Pia Guanio in “Showbiz Central” last Sunday. These are the highlights: “Magsasabi ako ng totoo kasi hindi ako plastic. Nang sabihin ni James sa’kin na sila na ni Kris, sabi ko, ‘Kris Aquino? Ayoko.’ Ayoko kasi alam mo naman si Kris, iba talaga kami, mahirap lang kami, sila mayaman. Pero kami ng papa ni James wala nang nagawa kasi mahal niya talaga si Kris. May ibang nabuntis si James. AT THE TV5 Star Factor auditions in Cebu, juror Joey Reyes asked a pretty 16-year old female contestant is she has a boyfriend. The girl suddenly cried, tears really falling down both cheeks. She said she had a boyfriend but her mom didn’t like the guy and told her to split with him. Direk Joey tried to soothe the girls feelings by telling her: “Don’t worry, you’ll get over that. When I was 15, my mom read my diary and learned about my boyfriend. She also told me to break up with him kaya umiyak din ako.”
It was enough to make the girl laugh and regain her composure. Off cam, Direk Joey told us he just cried recently after he found out that his most trusted driver of 8 years has swindled him to the tune of P70,000. “He stole some of my blank checks then forged my signature and was able to encash them,” he says. “Bukod kasi sa misis niya, may babae kasi. I cried kasi I trusted him so much and he betrayed it. Pareho na lang kami ni Rowell Santiago. Nakuha naman ng driver niya ang ATM card niya and was able to steal half a million from him. Kaya, nakakatakot talagang masyadong magtiwala ngayon. Kaya ako, pati lahat ng lock sa bahay, I changed them.”
Other recent victims of people they trusted are Helen Gamboa who was swindled by a friend of daughter Ciara who got millions of pesos worth of jewelry from them, Alfie Lorenzo who was also swindled by a couple working for him, and Carmina Villaroel whose cook stole a lot of property from them.
