WHILE LOVI POE was preparing for her Bench pictorial, someone secretly videotaped her on the phone showing her intimate parts. This was later uploaded in the internet. How does she feel about it? “I really felt nabastos ako kasi I was assured walang ibang magkukuha ng picture doon sa pictorial,” she says. “I have no idea who took that video and who uploaded it. As of now, ayoko na lang pansinin. Kasi, if I’d let myself be affected, I’d just get angry and depressed about it and I don’t want to dwell on these negative feelings. Bahala na lang si Lord sa kung sinuman ang gumawa noon. Basta ako, happy ako na very positive ang feedback about my pictorial kasi classy lumabas ito at di malaswa.”
As of now, she can’t complain about her career as Mother Lily believes in her so much. At the presscon for the horror film “White House”, the Regal producer proclaimed she knows Lovi will hit it big. “She’s very good in ‘White House’, impressed ako, so I’m also including her in the cast of ‘Temptation Island’ and I plan to launch her solo.”
In “White House”, Lovi plays April, a poor pole dancer who joins the reality show inside a haunted house to win the P1 million prize and improve her life. “May pagka-flirt ako rito and I have a fling with Joem Bascon. I’m glad that I’ve worked na with our director here, Topel Lee, who directed me and Rocco Nacino in our ‘Love Bug’ episode shot in Palawan, kaya comfortable na ko with him. Ang galing niya. He’s very cool on the set but can also be very firm in getting what he wants from you. You should watch out for the scene where I have a really frightening encounter with the ghost in the story. I prayed muna before we shot that scene kasi the ghost is a very violent spirit kaya matatakot talaga ang viewers. I’ve done the ‘Christmas Tree’ episode before in ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll X’, but it’s pambata compared to ‘White House’ na sisigaw ka talaga sa takot.”
Is it true a ghost really got attracted to her while they were shooting the film? “That’s what the staff says kasi sa camera raw, parang may sumusunod sa’king spirit or what. But I myself, hindi ko na-feel. I’m wearing sexy outfits kasi in the film kaya raw pati multo, na-attract sa’kin,” she laughs.
“White House” opens in theatres on October 13 as a pre-Halloween presentation.

ERIK SANTOS is very excited with his concert at the Meralco Theatre on September 24 & 25 (Friday and Saturday), “The Power of One”, since his very special guest is from the Kapuso network, Asia’s Songbird no less, Regine Velasquez. “I’m really grateful na pumayag siyang mag-guest sa show ko kahit we belong to different networks,” he says. “I’m really looking forward to singing powerful songs with her. Talagang puno ng biritan ang concert kong ito.”
He’s also happy that he’ll be part of ABS-CBN’s new show, “Star Power”, with Sharon Cuneta. “I didn’t plan this but I was so grateful that ABS gave me the chance to help host the show with the Megastar. This is a talent search. E, doon din naman ako galing so I’m sure makakatulong sa contestants dito. And more than that, Sharonian talaga ako ever since kaya I welcome the chance to work with her. Ang dami ko talagang blessings kaya marami akong dapat ipagpasalamat kay Lord.”
What can he say now that Rufa Mae Quinto is very vocal about wedding plans to her mysterious BF? “I’m so happy for her. I wish them all the best.”
Hasn’t he had a girlfriend since they broke up? “Meron, non-showbiz. But as of now, wala na rin kami. Mas gusto ko na yung non-showbiz kasi noong kami ni Peachy, grabe ang intriga sa amin.”
Aside from Regine, Martin Nievera and Rachel Ann Go will also guest in “Power of One” on Friday, then Piolo Pascual will guest on Saturday, presented by Core Events in cooperation with La Carmela de Boracay and Good Earth Restaurant. For tickets, call SM at 470-2222 and Ticketworld at 891-9999.
RAYMART SANTIAGO is grinning from ear to ear as his new show, “Bantatay”, is rating very high, often beating its rival. In the show, he’s a devoted dad who gets killed by their family’s foes and his soul transfers to the dog Bantay (Charlie) so he can continue to take care of his three children. How is it sharing topbilling and his title role with a dog, Charlie? “Nakakatuwa si Charlie kasi para siyang taong marunong mag-isip at gumalaw according to what our director, Don Michael Perez, wants him to do,” says Raymart. “Natakot lang siya doon sa eksenang pinapasok siya sa isang nasusunog na bahay and he doesn’t want to do it at first, but still did to save his owner, Jennica Garcia, from being burned in the fire. He’s definitely a lovable dog.”
Charlie is a two-year old Labrador with a special trainer, Dennis Javier. GMA-7 called for an audition for dogs and he was the one who was chosen to play Bantay. Before the show started, he underwent three-month training first to make sure he won’t be camera conscious. The child actors who play Raymart and Gelli de Belen’s kids in the show are Krystal Reyes, Renz Valerio and Sweet Ramos. They all say they enjoy playing and having fun with Charlie on the set when they’re not taping a scene together.
NOW THAT “Basahang Ginto” reaches its memorable conclusion this week, Geoff Eigenmann says he feels somewhat anxious that he won’t be seeing Carla Abellana that frequently anymore as he’s also busy taping the new hit primetime show, “Grazilda”, with Glaiza de Castro. When Carla went with some friends to Boracay for a short vacation, he followed her so they can have some good moments together in the beautiful island resort. So what’s the status of their relationship now? “Ganun pa rin, close friends, hindi pa naman niya ako sinasagot, e,” he says.
Carla says if ever she’d choose someone for a boyfriend now, definitely, it’s not going to be anyone else but Geoff. “Kaya lang, I really want to concentrate muna on my career kasi I still consider myself a neophyte in showbiz. I really want to make good muna as an actress before I consider affairs of the heart. I’m glad naman that Geoff says he’s willing to wait. Basta huwag na lang muna kayong bibitaw sa ‘Basahang Ginto’ as the last few episodes will offer some exciting twists and turns in the story up to the memorable finale.”
