STAR MAGIC presented their newest discoveries to the press, co-managed with Eric Raymundo’s Cornerstone Management Center that manages Sam Milby, all singer-songwriters who’ve been introduced in the short-lived soap, “Idol”.
First are The Lamars, a duo comprised by brother DJ, 19, and Micah, 18, whose mom is Italian American and dad is a farmer from Marinduque. Both look good but they don’t look alike. DJ looks Caucasian. Micah is Moreno with Italian features and is a potential heartthrob. Their parents met while working as missionaries in Lucena City. DJ was born in New Mexico, USA then their parents relocated back to the Philippines and Micah was born in Lucena with their younger sister. Their family runs the Faith Hope Love Children’s Ranch in Sariaya, Quezon taking care of 40 orphans. DJ is the composer and has written 30 songs. They were discovered while singing in a church in Alabang. They’ll soon have their own album.
Krissy and Ericka are sisters. Ericka is eldest at 17 and Krissy is 16. Krissy has better vocals and was runnerup to Charice Pempengco and Sam Concepcion in “Little Big Star”. She has her own youtube channel, Krissy_sings, that has had 8 million hits. Their single “Up Up, Down Down” composed by Richard Poon was first heard on the radio then instantly became a huge hit. They have their self titled album under MCA Records. Their latest single “Runaway” is sold out in Thailand and Indonesia. Their own MTV version of Justin Bieber’s “Baby” will be used in Bieber’s upcoming movie. They recently won the award for Best Performance by a Duo or Group in the 23rd Awit Awards for their original composition Surf’s Up.
An all male group called 3AM is composed by Mikael Caldito, James Torres and Kyle Amor who first appeared on Music Uplate Live with Yeng Constantino and earned a huge fan base there. Originally, Mika and James, both goodlooking tisoys, play music as a duo, performing in various schools. Kyle is a balikbayan from the U.S. and commercial model who plays bass guitar. They have performed as front acts of Richard Poon and was seen on TV as Sam Milby’s acoustic band in “Idol”. A self titled album under Star Records is on its way for the newest all-male band.
Emanuelle Vera is the youngest discovery at 15. She has an American mom but speaks Tagalog fluently. She acts, sings and dances well. She took formal dance lessons and has played the lead role in various theater musicals such as the Sound of Christmas, Sending Out Love, My Fair Esther and more. She also took guitar, piano, and voice lessons. She’ll soon release her debut album under Universal Records but she is already included in the Universal Records Compilation album called “By Popular Demand 2” where she sings her own renditions of songs like Beyonce’s Halo, Empire State of Mind by Alicia Keys, and Taylor Swift’s You Belong with Me. She played villain to Sarah Geronimo in “Idol“.
