DO YOU KNOW that Glaiza de Castro didn’t have an inkling she was the one chosen by GMA to play the title role in “Grazilda”? “Marami kasi kaming aktres na pinag-audition para sa show,” she says. “Ako, sandali lang, natapos ako agad whereas the rest, pinag-stay pa sila nang matagal at inabot daw ng gabi ang audition sa kanila. So never kong naisip na akong makukuha kasi, in my experience, pag pinauwi ka agad, ibig sabihin, you have very little chance of bagging the role. Mas may chance those who are told to stay. So when I was informed na ako ang napili, siempre, I couldn’t believe it. But it’s really a big blessing from the Lord kasi tamang-tama, I just got my parents a new house sa Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City and with the income I’ll get in ‘Grazilda’, may pambayad na ako sa loan namin sa banko.”
She’s happy that “Grazilda” quickly recovered after being clobbered by the pilot telecast of “Imortal”. “Credit should go to our writers and directors as they really work hard to make sure that the show’s every episode is worth watching. Lately, Geoff Eigenmann as Eric and I become closer dahil tuturuan niya ko how to do things in their world, like how to cross the street properly. He helps me look for my dad, Joel Torre, and in the process, a snatcher makes me a hostage nang habulis ito ng mga pulis. But I fight back and tamang-tama, nagkita kami ng dad ko. Siempre, his wife, Cherie Gil as Veronne, is mad about this and she maltreats me again. Na-realize ko namang si Geoff talaga ang prince charming ng buhay ko but it turns out mas gusto niya si Cindy, played by Yasmien Kurdi.”
