KOREAN RYAN BANG was discovered in the last PBB Teens. He’s only a runnerup but he’s now even more popular than the winner, James Reid, as he’s a regular in “Showtime” on ABS-CBN and now has his own solo show on Studio 23, “Eow Powhz!”, a reality comedy show where he goes around the city using public transport to interview people from all walks of life. What makes it funny is that Ryan doesn’t speak English or Tagalog fluently. He’s potrayed as a buffoon but he’s obviously enjoying it. Why is he full of energy? “Because I eat rice five times a day.” He’s been five years in Manila and was studying at International School when he joined PBB. Does he feel pressure now that he has his own show whereas the PBB Teens winner has none? “I’m very happy. Walang pressure ako. I’m very comfortable.” Who’s his crush? “Enchong Dee. Sobrang mabait, kind, he came to my birthday party.” People laughed at this and he said: “I’m not really smart, sorry. I try to speak Tagalog but my brain is not really working.” Any girl crush? “Maja Salvador.” We hope Ryan won’t be just a novelty like Ya Chang before him.
