RIMA OSTWANI: DIETHER OCAMPO'S EX

Rima Ostwani is known as hunk actor Diether Ocampo’s girlfriend. Yet, she is more than that. As a personal shopper, by profession, at a premier lifestyle hub, Rima was virtually unknown until she started dating Diet.

Rima was born to a Syrian father and a Spanish-German mother. Rima is a common name in the Middle East which means "the eyes of the deer." She actually grew up in Lebanon, spending at least 10 years of her childhood there. She went back to the Philippines when she reached high school.


She can speak five languages: Pilipino, English, Spanish, French and Arabic. "I was schooled formally in Arabic and French. We speak English at home. While I learned Spanish informally from my mom," explained Rima.

When you are talking to Rima it is inevitable not to talk about Diet and their relationship. "When I first met him, the first thing he told me was 'I have this foundation. It's about children.' That's when I realized that he wasn't just an actor. He had me when he told me he has this social cause," recalled Rima. Since she loves kids, it was the magic words "children's foundation" that made her fall in love with him. Although they have been dating for more than a year now the possibility of marriage is still far off in the future.

Now that she has finally entered showbiz, Rima wants to become a host. "I want to host lifestyle shows since I have a background in retail. I love talking a lot. In fact, I was in the debate team in high school and I was also a member of the student council. I can discuss anything, everything under the sun. I can gel with any group. To me everybody deserves to be spoken with. I have a very cheery personality and I am very friendly. Hindi ako maarte. I may be makikay but I can be very cowboy too."

If given a chance, Rima is also open to commercial endorsements. She has done a few modeling stints during high school and college while being busy with extracurricular activities that have socio-political inclinations - from joining debate teams and student council to contributing for her high school paper and conducting lectures on leadership and even teaching French.

However, Rima pointed out that she has no plans of becoming an actress. "Acting is for a certain kind of people. I don't think I'm fit to be an actress so I don't find myself interested in acting. It looks easy on TV but in my case, you have to put me in tons of workshops for me to learn how to act." But who knows what will happen in the future?
