Dingdong Dantes |
Dennis Trillo |
HERE is letter from Reggie T. Cabarle of MLQU: “Do you agree about what some writers say that Dennis Trillo eclipsed Dingdong Dantes in the conclusion of ‘Endless Love’?”
We saw the tear-drenched final episode and we beg to disagree. We dare say Dingdong was able to hold his own. Just like in the ending of “Stairway to Heaven” where his leading lady (Rhian Ramos) also died, he delivered a quiet but very effective performance in the dying scene of Marian Rivera where he tries to pep her up while she’s breathing her last in his arms, telling her that she’ll live and they’ll have kids of their own. Tears were just silently streaming down his face with no trace of overacting whatsoever. But the role of Dennis as Andrew is admittedly more sympathetic. As the patient guy who loves Marian’s Jenny so much but willingly stays on the sidelights, Dennis remains supportive of Marian all the way and was even the one tasked to dispose of her ashes at sea. Just like the role of TJ Trinidad in “Stairway” who killed himself to give his eyes to the sightless Rhian.
