DUE TO UGLY TEXT messages denouncing talent manager Shirley Kuan for allegedly maltreating and verbally abusing KC Concepcion who then fired her, Shirley issued an official statement about her resignation: “This is to confirm my resignation as co-manager of Ms. KC Concepcion as of August 23, 2010. And understandably, it is expected from Ms. Concepcion to look for a new manager of her choice. Upon learning last Tuesday, October 26th, from Star Magic’s head, Ms. Mariole Alberto, that Ms. Concepcion is already under their management, I happily volunteered to assist in any way I can for a smooth and proper turnover. I wish Ms. Concepcion all the success she worked hard for and the happiness she prays for in her heart. She is young and very talented, and surely the best is yet to come. Let us all continue to support and cheer her on. Let the hurtful speculations rest as the truth shall always prevail.”
We asked Shirley if Piolo Pascual is really the reason why she quit. “No, I never meddle with the love affairs of my talents. Donna Cruz was at the height of her career when she decided to marry Dr. Yong Larrazabal but I never stopped her. That’s their private life, so I don’t interfere. I wish KC all the best.”
So what’s the real reason? Instead of replying, she just gives a cryptic Mona Lisa smile.
