GOV. VILMA SANTOS hosted lunch at Chef Jessie’s Enchante Resto at Oakwood Ortigas on Thanksgiving Day and she led the prayer giving thanks to the Lord for all the blessings we have all received during the year. We then lifted her up to God for her to be able to discern what she’ll do next after being Batangas governor since a lot of people are requesting her to run for higher office in the next national election. “It’s not in my plans,” she says. “Being governor is nakaka-drain na. What more if it’s a national position.”
She really wants to do another movie. “The one with Sharon Cuneta for Star and the indie film with Direk Jeffrey Jeturian, parehong wala pang scripts. But I do have a nice project with Chito Rono, a suspense-thriller. Sana magawa namin next year.”
Is Vilma willing to help Nora Aunor who needs a sponsor to come home? “Yes, but if ever I’d do it, I’d be very quiet. Kasi yung ganun, with her stature as the superstar, hindi na dapat ina-announce yun, e. She IS Nora Aunor. I talked to her when ‘In My Life’ had a premiere in the States and she even referred some friends to -me na gustong manood and I accommodated all of them. At that time, she told me she was staying in Beverly Hills.”
How’s her mom who we heard has Alzheimer’s disease? “She’s with me in Batangas. Okay siya but her memory is really going. Kung minsan, parang bata, nag-aabang ng pasalubong, may yakap na stuffed toy.”
Her sister Emilyn says Mama Santos just wants to watch TV. “She calls me Ate. Ako na Ate niya ngayon.”
Is it true after the reconciliation with Angel Locsin didn’t succeed, her son Luis now has a new girlfriend in Alodia Gosiengfiao? “I don’t know. I don’t interfere naman with his lovelife. Pero sayang si Angel kasi mabait siya at kilala na namin as Lucky really brings her sa bahay. She even spent Christmas with us and she gets along well with everyone. I just wish they’ll remain friends. Wala pa siyang ibang dinadala sa bahay to introduce to us, so I don’t know.”
After lunch, Gov. Vi gave us Batangas suman and chocolate and they’re really good. “Our province has plenty of good home grown products and I’m proud to help promote them,” she says.
