ANNE CURTIS is the 2011 Ginebra San Miguel calendar girl. “I feel honored and flattered as I know their calendars are collector’s items and I’ll be a part of history,” she says at her launch. “I also like their concept of honoring the Bidas among Pinoy workers. I have five versions na iba-iba getups ko that we shot for two days. In one, I’m a mechanic, tapos I’m also an aviator, a member of the military, construction worker and fitness enthusiast. I’m really excited as they stress the dignity of labor.”
So why did they choose Anne? “She’s a multi-talented young actress and a certified bida herself in both movies and TV,” says Ginebra San Miguel VP-marketing manager Nelson Elises. “After seeing her five poses in our calendars, talagang perfect siya for our concept in boosting out products.”
Anne remains one of our busiest young actresses today. She’s currently taping “Green Rose” with Jake Cuenca for ABS-CBN and shooting the rom-com “Who’s That Girl” with Luis Manzano for Viva Films. She’s also in “Showtime” and “ASAP”. What can she say about what happened in ASAP last Sunday that triggered the current controversy involving her co-Viva artists Cristine Reyes and Sarah Geronimo? “Ay, big no comment po ako diyan. Wala ako noon sa ASAP kaya wala akong alam tungkol diyan, pero sana, everybody happy na lang.”
What about her younger sister Jasmine joining showbiz? “I’m happy for her. She’ll be with the Kapatid network. But we agreed her studies will be her priority so she’ll only be working here during the schoolbreak until February then goes back to finish high school in Melbourne. After that, maybe she can take a year’s rest to try showbiz here then go back to the university.”
Who does she consider as the Bidas in her life? “Siempre, mga fans ko. I now have 600,000 folloowers sa twitter account ko.”
Who inspires her now? “Si Lord.” She won’t mention it but it’s common knowledge her current squeeze is Erwan Heussaff, younger brother of her good friend Solenn.
