AT THE PRESSCON of “
Shake, Rattle & Roll 12”, Shaina Magdayao was asked pointblank if the rumor that she’s now carrying John Lloyd Cruz’ child is true. “Ano ba yan? Kahit magpapasko na, ayaw pa rin akong lubayan ng intriga?” she laughs. “Hindi po ako buntis. Sobrang dami ngang trabaho ko ngayon with two filmfest entries, itong ‘Shake’ and ‘Tanging Ina Mo, Last Na ‘To’, plus I tape four times a week for my afternoon soap, ‘Alynna’. If I were pregnant, hindi ko kakayanin lahat yan. Sa Christmas season nga mismo, I’ll be busy promoting my entries, sasama pa ko sa Parade of Stars on Christmas Eve then I have to attend the awards night the day after Christmas. Sandali lang ang vacation ko and by January 2, may taping na uli ako.”
Is she still affected by such rumors? “Noong una, like yung nasty rumor about me and John Lloyd being taken to the hospital, I’ll admit naapektuhan ako. But now, I believe mas matibay na ako kasi mas nakilala ko yung sarili ko. Na hindi ako dapat patangay sa tsismis, no matter how bad. Ngayon, yang buntis tsismis, parang no effect na kasi alam ko naman ang totoo. I’m happy there’s always my family to back me up at hindi talaga bumibitiw sa suporta nila sa’kin.”
Shaina plays the lead in the “Mamanyika” episode of “Shake 12” where she fights with an evil doll possessed by the avenging spirit of a mad woman, played by Rita Avila.
