PEACHY GUIOGUIO, formerly of GMA and ABS but now of TV5, triumphantly announced that the Kapatid Network is now also known as Happy Network since they emerged as Numero Uno in the ratings last Wednesday night. Their banner show, “Willing-Willie”, topped its rival newscasts for the first time, getting a rating of 10.8%. GMA’s “24 Oras” got 9.9% while ABS-CBN’s “TV Patrol” is the lowest with only 9.2%. This led to their new show, Cristy Fermin’s “Star Confession”, also rating high with 10%. This should be enough cause for alarm to the two reigning networks. Obviously, the return of Noli de Castro and Korina Sanchez didn’t help attract new viewers for “TV Patrol” and this should be enough for ABS to be more annoyed, what with their former talent, Willie, beating them in the ratings. No wonder they continue to file cases against him. But as one self appointed pundit says, the more they sue Willie, the more he seems to gain the public’s sympathy. “Mas nagmumukha lang siyang kinakawawa sa mata ng tao kaya mas marami tulong naeengganyo sa show niya.” Agree or disagree?
Willie turns 50 next month and he wants to have a grand birthday celebration at the Quirino Grandstand no less. We hope it won’t turn into another Ultra Tragedy. About his co-host, Shalani Soledad, no less than Shalani’s aunt confirmed that Willie is really courting Shalani seriously. Will she be the third Mrs. Revillame after Princess Punzalan and Liz Almoro? Shalani has also done a pictorial to be a Bench endorser with Willie but we heard this won’t be coming out anymore as Kris Aquino has asked Bench mogul Ben Chan to stop it. How true?
