WHEN WE asked Director Wenn Deramas how he feels about the son of Albert Martinez’ tweet against him on the set of “Who’s That Girl” last Friday, he hasn’t read it yet but he said, “God bless na lang”. We admired his attitude then as he remains humble in victory after winning best director for “Tanging Ina Mo”. But two days ago, he got back at Alfonso’s tweet and this is what he wrote in Twitter: “Pagkatapos kong mabasa kanina ang tweet ng anak ni albert martinez, sinabi ko sa sarili ko na pag-aaralin ko ng mahusay ang mga anak ko sa paaralang Itinuturo ang PAGTANGGAP NG MALUWAG SA DIBDIB NILA KAPAG NATATALO!!! Bakit sa Tweeter lang isinisigaw, lubos lubusin na natin ang sinabi ni Alfonzo Martinez sa akin at sa Pelikulang Tanging Ina Mo, Last na To!” And he quoted Alfonso’s twit that has already been erased: “I am sorry, but how the fuck can a shallow, stupid and over milked movie win best director? Apparently to the magical MMFF grading system, the pinacle of Philippine cinema is a brainless, rehashed, slapstick movie that would be the laughing stock of any filmfest outside the Phil! OH WAIT! I guess the movie is successful after all.”
May breeding.”
Tanging Ina Mo has won so many awards and raked it in a lot of money. We think it would have been better for Wenn and Ai Ai to have just kept quiet and been more magnanimous in victory. That would have been real good breeding kaysa yung pumatol pa sila. Meantime, Liezl has posted her apology to Wenn, also in FB: "Albert & I have already talked to Alfonso about this. He had no right to say those things. We are not making excuses for him because he is already 23 yrs old, but sana you can understand kahit konti na this was just an emotional outburst of a son who had a temporary lapse of judgement. This was not personal. Albert works hard to give d kids a good education so they grow up to be good citizens, God fearing & treat everybody with respect. We are truly saddened this all happened but hope we can all start the new year with a little bit of understanding. Albert & I are truly apologizing on his behalf.”
