Predictions of fortunetellers that failed in 2010

SINCE TV TALK shows tolerate them, they’re all over again last weekend making all sorts of predictions. We refer to the “manghuhulas” who always surface at the start of each new year. Like the previous years, we’ve collected the predictions made at the start of the year that just ended and here are the false predictions of 2010 that should make these fortune tellers eat their words. We won’t mention their names anymore to prevent more embarrassment since one prominent manghuhula even failed to predict his own passing last year.

The Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez wedding will not happen. Kris Aquino and James Yap will have a big lovers quarrel but they will kiss and make up just the same. Ruffa Gutierrez and John Lloyd Cruz will admit their relationship in public and their romance will be rosier than ever. Richard Gutierrez and Jewel Mische will also admit the relationship they’ve been carrying on for the past few years. Marian Rivera might get pregnant but she will have problems with her love affair with Dingdong Dantes. Sharon Cuneta will win a number of best actress awards. (After she won as Metro filmfest best actress in December 2009, Sharon no longer won anything else in 2010. What she did experience is her much talked about “tampuhan” blues with Aga Muhlach that no one got to predict.)

Nora Aunor will finally make a comeback. (As we all know, Nora allegedly lost her voice after undergoing “retoke” in Japan.) Maricel Soriano will get to revive her career and will more awards and recognitions. (It’s her niece Meryll who won awards.) Dingdong Dantes will find a new love he won’t be able to resist. Richard Gutierrez might move to another TV station, also Piolo Pascual. KC Concepcion will transfer to a new residence. (What happened is that KC now has a new manager after her falling out with Shirley Kuan.) Claudine Barretto will slow down in her career. (She moved to GMA, had her own TV drama, and no one got to predict her feuds with Angelica Panganiban and own sister Gretchen.) Judy Ann Santos will be receiving many local awards and international recognition. (Where are they? What she got was a visit from the stork.)
