DIRECTOR ANDOY RANAY surely became controversial when he moved to GMA and had a brush with Kuya Germs after reprimanding Jake Vargas. He also became busier, directing “I Heart You Pare” on TV with Regine Velasquez and Dingdong Dantes, and getting to direct for the big screen for the first time with the “BBFF (Best Boy Friend Forever)” episode of “My Valentine Girls” starring Richard Gutierrez, Lovi Poe and Solenn Heussaff. After getting the chance to meg the two top leading men of GMA, who’d he say is the better actor: Richard or Dingdong? “They’re so different in personality and acting range. Maski sa kaguwapuhan, magkaiba ang looks nila. I see a lot of potential in Richard who’s younger, so marami pang puedeng magawa. He’s so magaan katrabaho. He does his homework, always asking kung paano mas mapagaganda ang eksena. And he learns fast. First time niya to work with both Lovi and Solenn but maganda ang teamwork nila in their love triangle story. I’m confident the film will be a blockbuster.”
And what about Dingdong? “Since he’s older, mas mature si Dingdong sa outlook, but both of them, so nice to work with as they’re both intelligent. Mas matagal ko ng kakilala si Dingdong so mas may bonding na kami since I directed him na in ‘Stairway to Heaven’. Drama yun, this time he does comedy in ‘I Heart You Pare’ and magaling ang timing niya sa pagpapatawa. Maganda rin ang on screen chemisty nila ni Regine. I’m sure the show will be a hit.”
