WHEN ASKED what’s the highlight of “Who’s That Girl?” viewers should watch out for, Anne Curtis says: “The three butt exposures ni Luis Manzano dito.”
Luis himself adds: “This is my nudest movie to date. After this, the next step is pene na. I just hope hindi putulin ng MTRCB at sayang naman ang mga pinakita ko.” How would his mom, Gov. Vilma Santos, react to it? “When I did my Cosmo pictorial na hubad din ako, I showed the best shots to my mom at hindi siya natuwa. Nagalit siya. And knowing my mom, after ‘Who’s That Girl?’, feeling ko baka i-disown na niya ko.”
Luis is always joking so you don’t really know if he’s just kidding or telling the truth. One thing is sure, though. He has an exhibionistic streak in him and it’s obvious he has no qualms and even enjoys showing off his hunky physique. Dina Bonnevie, who plays Anne’s mom in the film, says Luis is “manang-mana sa ama” as Edu Manzano is also fond of pulling such pranks like showing his behind.
Anne says: “In fairness, makinis ang puwet niya.” How close are they? “We were exclusively dating noong di pa siya artista, but never naging formal na kami na. But we’ve maintained the friendship for nearly ten years now and wala na kaming ilangan. I was his first leading lady in ‘Kampanerang Kuba’ and this is our third film after ‘All About Love’ and ‘Cute ng Ina Mo’. It’s always fun to work with someone you’re so comfortable with.”
Is there a possibility that they might still be together in the future? “We’re not discounting that,” says Luis. “We have no guarantee about the future, so mahirap magsalita ng patapos na imposibleng maging kami. Basta as of now, we’re quite content with whatever friendship we share with each other. And even if we have no idea at all what the future holds for us, our friendship now is the most perfect foundation for anything na puedeng mangyari sa amin.”
