TIRSO CRUZ III didn’t have any second thoughts playing the role Regine Velasquez’ openly gay uncle who brings her to Manila to be a drag queen in Club Love. “I welcome the chance of doing a comedy kasi it’s a breather for me para maiba sa usual villain roles na ginagawa ko,” he says. “My name is Cesar, pero nagiging Sarsi kapag girl na ako. Part ako rito ng soft drink beauties, the others are Boy Alano as Coca and Joel Saracho as Pepsi. Kalaban namin ang hard drinks led by Paolo Ballesteros as Vodka. I thought it’s easy to play a flaming queen but it’s hard pala kasi hindi lang bakla-baklaan ito kundi ayos babae talaga ako. It takes an hour and a half to put on make up pati pagsusuot ko ng costume complete with high heels. It’s fun working with Regine Velasquez. She requested all of us to call her Ate. Magiging roommates sila.
