Francheska Farr sings Captain Barbell Theme Song

FRANCHESKA FARR is jubilant with her nomination in the Golden Screen Awards (to be held on April 2 at Teatrino Greenhills) as best new movie actress for her fine performance as the yaya of a prince in “Emir”. “It’s an honor na ma-nominate ako,” she says. “Nakaka-tension lang, puro mahuhusay ang co-nominees ko.”

We think her toughest rival is Kapuso colleague Carla Abellana, who’s also good as the teacher who fights a family of aswangs in the “Funeraria” episode of “Shake, Rattle & Roll 12”. Her edge is she stars in a full length film where she not only gets to sing but also act.

Frencheska’s career is really doing well. Her compelling love song, “Isama Mo Ako” by Vehnee Saturno from her “Inside My Heart” debut album, will now be used as the theme song of Richard Gutierrez’ new “Captain Barbell”. The song, a follow up to her “Today I’ll See the Sun” single, has a catchy melody and well written lyrics. Its music video directed by Milos Curameng can now be seen in top music channels, shot at the historic Manila Hotel where many dignitaries and celebrities have stayed through the years. This is the fourth time Frencheska’s song is used in a GMA show. Her “Everytime” was used in “Tween Hearts”, “Sa Pangarap Ko” was used in “Alakdana”, while “Ang Pag-ibig Kong Ito” was used in the Koreanovela “Temptation of Wife”, all hit shows.
