How is it working with Sarah? “Okay naman siya. Mabait, sweet. Pero noong una, siempre, may ilangan factor kasi we’ve never worked before kahit sa ‘Maalaala’ or ‘Your Song’. Ako rin, nahihiya pa sa kanya kasi she’s a big star but I tried my best to make her feel comfortable. After a few days, nag-warm up din siya. Kasi may scene na nagtitinginan kami, very close mukha namin sa isa’t isa. Bale yun ang first kilig moment namin sa movie. E, nahihiya siya, so natawa siyang bigla. Pagtawa niya, tumalsik ang laway niya sa mukha ko, tumama sa mata ko, sobrang dami. Buti, mabango laway niya. After that, okay na, even with Sarah’s parents, friends na kami. We’re all comfortable with each other.”
We’re sure Sarah will be compared with his former ka-love team, Kim Chiu. “Lagi namang ganun talaga sa showbiz, di ba? So it cannot be avoided. But each of them has her own nice qualities. I’m glad tanggap ng fans namin ni Kim ang tambalan namin ni Sarah. The Kimeralds even visit us sa shooting ng movie namin ni Sarah. Mabait sila to her at nagpapa-picture pa with her.”
Did Kim greet him on his birthday? “Yes, okay naman kami. Massage chair ang gift niya for me.”
To share his blessings, Gerald treated patients from the Cancer Warrior Foundation to a party of fun, food and games at Chow King last Monday afternoon. On April 15, he’ll join the Star Magic US Tour at LA Shrine Auditorium, April 16 at San Jose Events Center in San Jose, California, and April 23 at NY Lincoln Center.
