Heart Evangelista on the break up of Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado

HEART EVANGELISTA was interviewed live by Pia Guanio and she recounted in full her family’s experience after their house in Carmona, Cavite was burned down. “We love that house,” she says. “My dad himself built it, a labor of love. I was on my way to Bacolod to promote ‘Dwarfina’ in a mall show when I got a call from my sister telling me that it’s gone, everything is gone. I was so worried about my dad. So after I came from Bacolod, I went straight to Cavite and I was relieved because he’s okay, he’s even joking. He was in the shower when he was informed that the house was burning and when he went out, nasusunog na pati yung hagdan. The first thing he did is to save all our 14 German shepherds, including my dog who just gave birth to six puppies. Wala siyang gamit na na-saved, but at least, buhay siya. He chose life over material things.”

How did the fire start? “May nagsiga. So this is a lesson for all of us. Huwag na lang magsiga. Safety first. But we plan to build a new house there. Hindi na made of wood kundi semento na para hindi madaling masunog.”

Her leading man in “Dwarfina”, Dennis Trillo, is currently in the news because of his breakup with Jennylyn Mercado. Did she notice anything in him about this? “No, wala akong napansin kay Dennis. Kasi, lumiit na uli ako kaya hindi na kami masyadong nagkikita sa story. Balik na ko sa Duwende World. But I hope things will still work out for the two of them. Or if not for them, at least, individually.”
