PHILLIP SALVADOR is happy that just as “Buhawi Jack” on ABS-CBN ends, his new show with TV5, “Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak” is starting. “Sayang nga I also had an offer from GMA-7 for ‘Amaya’ but nauna na itong sa TV5,” he says. “I can’t turn it down as I play a really good role as Mr. Z, for Zeus, the owner of the TV network where Ruffa Gutierrez acts as my chief operating officer. Maintriga ang role, maraming sekreto. It’ll be revealed later that I got involved with some of the women in the story, like Jean Saburit and also, Ruffa herself dahil akong nag-ahon sa kanya kahirapan. Si Jean naman, it’ll turn I’m the father of her son.”
He knows he plays a major support role in the show but he doesn’t mind. “When I was just starting, di rin naman aangat ang career kundi ako sinuportahan ng more established stars that time. It’s payback time now for me to support our younger stars.”
Aside from this, he has also started shooting the sequel for “Ang Panday, Ikalawang Yugto” with Bong Revilla, where he’ll reprise his role as Lizardo, for which he won the Metro-Manila filmfest best supporting actor award in 2009. About the more intriguing facets of his life, like what he can say about ex-GF Cristina Decena’s marriage to Ariel Villasanta and ex-GF Kris Aquino’s decision not to invite him to the graduation from Multiple Intelligence grade school last Sunday of their love son Joshua, Ipe would rather not make any comment. “Tahimik na ang buhay ko ngayon mula ng pinaubaya ko kay Lord,” he says. “I respect them and it’s better kung mananahimik na lang ako.”
