Is it true he’ll retire after this? “No, it’s not. Nakaka-tumbling pa naman ako, e. Before I met Mariel (Rodriguez, his wife), pinag-iisipan ko yan. Pero ngayong gusto naming magkaroon ng sariling pamilya, kailangang mag-ipon kami at tiempo namang mas maraming blessings na dumating sa’kin.”
He has always been the idol of the masses and he put up his Liwanag ng Kapayapaan Foundation to help the poor. Is it true his daughter Kylie chose to live independently? “Yes, I felt sad about it, masakit, dramatic nga eksena ng magpaalam siya sa’kin. But she’s 18, wala na tayong magagawa kung gusto nila magsarili.”
Eldest daughter Queenie said he couldn’t bear direct her scenes in “Tum”? “Totoo. Di ko kaya ang mga eksena nila ng loving-loving ni Ejay Falcon kaya si Jigz Recto at isang Indian director ang nagdirek sa kanila. Pero ididirek ko sila ni Kylie in an action movie. Balak ko ring magkaroon ng entry sa Metro-Manila Filmfest.”
