Tirso Cruz III gets own love interest in I heart you pare

TIRSO CRUZ III puts one over Bembol Roco when it comes to playing gay roles on TV soaps. Bembol played Iza Calzado’s gay uncle in “Beauty Queen” but he was never shown having a romantic interest. In “I Heart U Pare”, Pipo is Cesar-Sarsi, the uncle of Regine Velasquez, and this time, he has a love interest, the hunky Arthur Solinap who is the BF of Rochelle Pangilinan in real life. What he doesn’t know is that Arthur is actually a hired gun working for assassin Antonio Aquitania and is just winning his confidence to fulfill his mission to kill Regine.

“I’m having a great time playing this role kasi iba naman ito sa usual villain roles I play lately,” he says. “Maski ako, natatawa sa sarili ko sa mga pinaggagagawa ko rito. But I have a new film na balik ako sa pagiging masama, ‘Deadline’ by Joel Lamangan, where I play a corrupt governor who orders the killing of several journalists. In ‘Bisperas’ naman by Jeffrey Jeturian, I’m the problematic dad of Jennifer Sevilla, Julia Clarete and Edgar Allan Guzman.”

He’s nominated in the coming Golden Screen Awards as best supporting actor for “Sigwa”. He already won for the Cinemalaya best supporting actor award for his performance here as a former political activist turned government apologist. We won’t be surprised if he’d win it again.
