Tj Trinidad is a punk villain in Captain Barbell

AFTER HIS LEAD role in “Beauty Queen”, TJ Trinidad now plays a villain in the return of “Captain Barbell”. “I’m Gregor, owner of the tenement house where Richard Gutierrez as Teng lives,” he says. “Kami ng brother niyang si Elvis Gutierrez ang mga maton doon who terrorize the community. One day, we get hit by lightning at dahil doon, nagkaroon kami ng super powers that we don’t use for good but for evil. Makakalaban kami ni Captain Barbell.”

As Gregor, he sports a punky Mohawk hair style. “Para maiba naman,” he grins. As his alterego patterned after Colossus, he wears a metal suit. “Actually, magiging transformed into metal ang buong body ko. Mabuti magaan yung costume na sinusuot ko even if it’s made of metal. I’m comfortable moving in it, pero masyadong mainit nga lang.”

TJ has also finished a new movie, Deadline directed by Joel Lamangan. “I play a pro-government journalist who becomes an oppositionist after I witnessed how a corrupt governor, Tirso Cruz III, massacred some journalists. Kasama ko rito sina Lovi Poe, Allen Dizon and Ina Feleo, also the late John Apacible who’s one of Tirso’s henchmen in the story.”
